Peterborough City Council seeks a Director of Public Health – an inspirational, visionary leader to shape the future of public health in a rapidly growing city. The role involves improving health, tackling inequalities, protecting communities, and acting as the main public health adviser to councillors, officers and partners. You will lead a skilled team and work closely with the local authority, NHS and the Integrated Care System.

Qualifications & Experience

You are a strategic leader with a clear public health vision and proven ability to unite stakeholders. Registered with the GMC, GDC or UK Public Health Register, you bring expertise in public health, epidemiology, health economics and policy, as well as a track record of innovation and change management. You demonstrate skills in navigating complex systems, building relationships, focusing on performance and risk, delivering quality and cost‑effective health programmes that reduce inequalities, and developing your team.
