About the Role
Are you ready to develop your career in consumer protection? This 36‑month apprenticeship offers hands‑on experience with the Trading Standards team, supporting enforcement of consumer protection laws covering product safety, vapes and tobacco labelling, sales laws, misleading pricing, and weights and measures. You will play a key role in enforcing the regulations around tobacco and vapes, which will be subject to major changes from 2027, and work toward a nationally recognised Level Trading Standards Professional (Tobacco and Vapes legislation) qualification.
Application Requirements
- Be aged 16 or above and an Islington resident, care leaver or recent school leaver (within the last 12 months).
- Be connected to Islington through completion of studies at an Islington college or university in the last 2 years (graduate/degree level only).
- Not already hold a qualification at the same level or above in this apprenticeship subject.
- Not have extensive skills or experience in this apprenticeship subject.
- Pass the course entry test(s), e.g. in Maths and English.
- Provide evidence of the minimum qualification of 2 A levels (or equivalent) and 4 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English language and maths (or equivalent).

Interview Day: week commencing 10th August 2026
Apprenticeship Start Date: September 2026 (TBC)
