Local Education is currently recruiting a Textiles Teacher for a part-time (0.6 FTE) position at a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Basildon. This exciting opportunity begins in September 2025 and is offered on a long-term basis with the potential to become permanent.
The successful candidate will teach Textiles across KS3 and KS4, supporting students through engaging, practical lessons. You’ll be joining a friendly and experienced Design & Technology department that values creativity, collaboration, and positive outcomes for all learners.
Key Responsibilities:- Teach Textiles at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons
- Mark and assess in line with national curriculum requirements
- Support learners with a range of abilities and learning styles
- Contribute to curriculum development and extra-curricular activities
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Textiles or Design & Technology in a UK secondary school
- Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
- Availability to start in September 2025
- 3 days per week (0.6 FTE) – flexible on working days
- Long-term role with potential to become permanent
- Competitive daily rates (£150 – £230 DOE)
- Weekly pay via PAYE
