Local Education, a trusted Education Recruitment Agency, is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Computer Science Teacher to join one of our partner schools in Bury St Edmunds on a long‑term basis. This role, beginning immediately, is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Computer Science educator who is passionate about digital learning, problem‑solving, and preparing students for the modern world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons to students to Key Stage 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5, depending on experience).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports all learners.
  • Teach core areas such as programming, algorithms, computational thinking, and digital literacy.
  • Use a variety of assessment methods to monitor progress and provide meaningful feedback.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Computer Science, ICT, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Computer Science up to Key Stage 4.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for Computing.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
