A Cover Supervisor manages a class during the short-term absence of the usual teacher. The lesson and resources are normally prepared for you. Your role is to explain the work clearly, keep pupils focused, follow the school’s behaviour policy and provide feedback at the end of the lesson. This is one of the most valuable ways to understand whether teaching is right for you. You will develop classroom presence, behaviour management, communication and confidence while seeing how different schools operate.
