On successful completion of the Advanced Clinical Practice programme and obtaining a PGDip in Health Studies, candidates will be expected to transition to a substantive position as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner across Local Care Direct services. The candidate will be supported and is expected to complete the MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice within 12 months after achieving the PG Dip; if not completed during this time, the element will need to be completed in the clinician’s own time. This training post is not the apprenticeship route, with organisational sponsorship process applying. Candidates will be employed at 37.5 hours per week, with 15 hours per week protected learning time.
Responsibilities
- Work well under pressure within a busy and vibrant environment, delivering outstanding care and patient experience.
- Undertake supervised clinical practice across Local Care Direct urgent care services.
- Apply clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients presenting with undiagnosed and undifferentiated conditions.
- Develop advanced skills in clinical decision making, critical thinking, and clinical management supported by a local competency framework and evidence‑based practice.
Requirements
- Successful completion of the Advanced Clinical Practice programme and acquisition of a PGDip in Health Studies.
- Support and completion of MSc Advanced Practice within 12 months after achieving the PGDip.
- Current eligibility to enrol at the University of Huddersfield.
- Commitment to a 37.5 hour per week schedule, including 15 protected learning hours per week.
