Local Care Direct is a non-profit Social Enterprise operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, to provide various primary and urgent health care services across West Yorkshire.

We are looking for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner.

Salary: £29.02 per hour - £37.73 out of hours

Location: King Street Walk in Centre, King Street Health Centre, 47 King Street, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, WF1 2SN

Shifts Available: To be discussed at interview

Main duties of the job:

  • The Advanced Clinical Practitioner will practice, without direct supervision, as an independent primary/urgent care healthcare practitioner within various clinical environments, participating in care of all age ranges and presenting conditions.
  • They will undertake assessment, diagnosis, treatment/referral and discharge of patients with primary/urgent care needs within their clinical competence.
  • They will provide clinical mentorship and leadership to all trainee and peer practitioners within the workplace when required.

Qualifications:

  • One of the following: NMC Registered General Nurse OR BSc in Paramedic Science/IHCD Paramedic qualification OR BSc in Physiotherapy OR MPharm AND Advanced Clinical Practitioner MSc/Post Grad Diploma in advanced clinical practice (minimum 1 year post Masters study).
  • Independent Prescribing qualification.
  • Current registration with HCPC, NMC or GPhC.

Experience:

  • Evidence of a range of clinical expertise, working independently in a healthcare role.
  • Experience of working in an autonomous practitioner role.
  • Evidence of competence in the clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of adults and paediatrics presenting with undifferentiated diagnosis.
  • Experience of managing minor illness.

Special Knowledge and Skills:

  • Effective communication skills: verbal, written and non-verbal.
  • Professionally accountable for clinical practice.
  • Knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of health agenda and health inequalities (local and national).
  • Innovative approach to practice.
  • Keyboard/PC skills.
  • Awareness of the impact of evidence-based practice.

Other:

  • Able to pass pre-employment health assessment.

Training:

  • Evidence of continuing professional development and application to practice in line with own professional regulatory requirements.
