Local Care Direct is seeking a Part-Time Fleet Support colleague based at Westbourne Green Community Hospital, Bradford. This role is essential in ensuring our urgent care fleet is safe, fully equipped and ready to support patient transport and home visiting services.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
Carry out routine vehicle checks including fuel, oil, water, tyres, lights and wipers.
Report damage, service warnings and defects.
Support vehicle movements and manage winter equipment.
Ensure vehicles are stocked with required equipment, consumables and first aid supplies.
Maintain medication and controlled drug stock, remove expired items and complete required audits.
Adhere to Infection Prevention & Control procedures and Care Quality Commission standards.
- £13.21 per hour (Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm).
- Weekly shifts:Monday: 9:00am-2:59pm (6 hours) Friday: 9:00am-4:59pm (8 hours) 4-week rolling rota.
- Location: Westbourne Green Community Hospital, 26 Heaton Road, Bradford, BD8 8RA.
About You You will be reliable, organised and team-focused, with:
A full UK driving licence (maximum 3 penalty points).
Extensive city and motorway driving experience.

- To report any accidents, complaints, defects in equipment, near misses and untoward incidents, following company procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety at Work regulations.
- Ensure Health and Safety legislation and company policy is complied with at all times, including COSHH, Workplace Risk Assessment, manual handling and Control of Infection.
COMMUNICATIONS & RELATIONSHIPS
- Read e-mail and manager communications on a regular basis to maintain knowledge and awareness of change.
- Maintain good working relationships with operational and management team.
- To promote effective cross-functional working and that the operational team supports the achievement of objectives, standards and protocols of other LCD areas.
- To attend internal meetings as required
CONFIDENTIALITY
To operate and ensure the team operates within information governance and GDPR protocols and that business confidentiality is maintained.
INFECTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL
Healthcare workers have a duty of care to patients and are to comply fully with the companies Infection Prevention and Control (IP&C) policies and attend/complete IP&C training, for personal,patient safety and for prevention of healthcare-associated infection (HCAI). Knowledge, skills and behaviour in the workplace should reflect this.
