We are seeking a Technical Coordinator to support the Technical Manager and wider project teams in managing the design process and ensuring technical information is coordinated effectively from planning through to construction.
Role Overview
The Technical Coordinator will assist in the coordination and management of design information across multiple residential developments. The role involves liaising with consultants, internal teams, and contractors to ensure drawings, specifications, and technical documentation are delivered on time and meet required standards. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of information between design and construction teams in a self-delivery environment, helping maintain programme, buildability, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Coordination
- Assist in coordinating architectural, structural, and MEP design information.
- Review and track design drawings, specifications, and consultant deliverables.
- Ensure design information is issued in line with project programme requirements.
- Support the resolution of design queries from site teams.
- Consultant Management
- Liaise with external consultants including architects, engineers, and specialist designers.
- Monitor consultant performance and ensure timely delivery of design packages.
- Coordinate design team meetings and record actions.
- Technical Documentation
- Maintain drawing registers and technical document control systems.
- Ensure accurate distribution of design updates to project teams.
- Support preparation of technical reports and design reviews.
- Compliance & Standards
- Assist with ensuring designs comply with planning conditions, Building Regulations, and warranty provider requirements (NHBC / LABC etc).
- Support the discharge of planning conditions and technical approvals.
- Construction Support
- Provide technical support to site teams during construction.
- Assist in managing RFIs and technical queries raised during build.
- Coordinate design changes and updates with consultants.
Skills & Experience
- Essential
- Experience working in a Technical / Design Coordination role within residential development or construction.
- Understanding of design coordination in residential projects.
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and planning processes.
- Strong organisational and document management skills.
- Ability to liaise effectively with consultants and site teams.
- Desirable
- Experience working for a developer or main contractor delivering residential schemes.
- Knowledge of NHBC / building warranty requirements.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
- Degree or HNC/HND in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, or similar.
