An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Estimator to join a leading organisation delivering major developments across the Cayman Islands. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious construction professional looking to work on large scale, high value projects within a dynamic and fast paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing strategic cost advice from the earliest stages of project feasibility through to project delivery.
The Role
As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for leading the estimating function across a diverse portfolio of current and future projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and Bills of Quantities
- Reviewing project specifications and tender documentation
- Providing concept estimating and strategic cost guidance across multiple project types
- Interpreting design intent and project scope to deliver accurate early stage cost advice
- Presenting estimates to senior stakeholders, consultants and executive teams
- Researching labour, material and equipment costs, including international procurement and freight costs
- Analysing currency exchange rates, import/export duties and market trends
- Maintaining detailed cost databases to support future project planning
About You
We're keen to speak with candidates who have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related discipline
- A minimum of 10 years' construction estimating experience
- Experience delivering estimates on projects valued in excess of $50m
- MRICS or equivalent professional accreditation (preferred)
- Strong understanding of the full construction lifecycle from inception through to handover
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience working with international supply chains and procurement processes
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials and cost controls
