Senior Electrical Design Engineer β Hybrid Working (Wiltshire, Manchester, or Sussex)
Location: Hybrid β several days per week in either Wiltshire, Manchester, or Sussex office, with regional site visits as required

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading multidisciplinary team delivering innovative, technically complex projects across high-tech sectors. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of engineering design while contributing to the delivery of critical infrastructure in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical design across all project phases, from concept through to commissioning.
- Develop detailed and compliant design solutions that align with client objectives, safety standards, and sustainability goals.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including mechanical, process, and architectural leads, to ensure integrated design outputs.
- Ensure all design work meets relevant national and international standards, as well as internal procedures.
- Carry out detailed technical assessments and calculations to support engineering decisions.
- Maintain accountability for meeting programme timelines and quality standards.
- Provide technical input during construction and commissioning stages.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and deliver suitable, innovative solutions.
- Present designs and proposals confidently in client-facing meetings.
- Support and mentor junior engineers, contributing to their development and promoting knowledge-sharing.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of internal standards, processes, and best practices.
- Support business development efforts as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 8 yearsβ experience in electrical design within the construction or building services sector, preferably in high-tech or life sciences environments.
- Strong understanding of design and build project delivery.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical calculation software.
- Thorough knowledge of UK regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
- Experience working with external consultants and system integrators.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous team management or leadership experience.
- Familiarity with ATEX, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and District Network Operator (DNO) requirements.
- Understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS).
Reporting & Relationships:
- Reports to: Head of Electrical Design Engineering
- Key stakeholders include: junior engineers, project teams, design leads, subcontractors, and client representatives.
