Mechanical Project Manager

Overview:

A key opportunity is available for a Construction Manager or Project Manager with a mechanical background to lead the delivery of a technically challenging air handling unit (AHU) replacement project in Barnstaple. The initial project involves the replacement of two large AHUs but includes significant additional works such as rooftop steelwork and internal modifications.

This is a live environment project requiring a highly methodical and safety-conscious approach. Success in this role may lead to long-term involvement in a wider programme of over 30 similar projects over the next ten years.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the replacement of two AHUs including structural steelwork on the roof and internal mechanical adaptations
• Deliver works within a live operational environment while ensuring minimal disruption
• Lead on health and safety planning including method statements and risk assessments
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to meet time and budget targets
• Oversee logistics, temporary works and commissioning activities
• Report progress, risks and any issues to senior stakeholders

Candidate Profile:

• Mechanical background ideally within building services or M&E focused environments
• Experience delivering complex mechanical packages in live settings
• Previous experience as a Construction Manager or Project Manager working on technically demanding projects
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and resolve on-site issues
• Comfortable developing and enforcing high health and safety standards
