Eden Scott is delighted to be retained by Loaninghill Fabrication to recruit an experienced Yard / Stores Person to support the day-to-day operation of the workshop, stores and yard areas.
This is a varied role involving goods inwards, stock control, material handling, bandsaw operation and general yard maintenance.
A key responsibility of this position is carrying out end‑of‑day site checks, ensuring equipment is switched off and the workshop and yard are securely locked up.
For this reason, the role works 15 minutes later than the standard workshop shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Checking goods against delivery notes and purchase orders
- Stock control and inventory management
- Operating a counterbalance forklift Cutting materials using bandsaws to work orders and stock requirements
- Recording stock movements and material usage
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe yard environment
- Waste management and recycling
- Carrying out basic equipment checks and reporting defects
- Conducting end‑of‑day security and lock‑up procedures
- Ensuring compliance with all health & safety procedures
- Previous experience in a yard, stores or industrial environment
- Counterbalance Forklift Licence
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Excellent timekeeping and attendance record
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to undertake physically demanding work
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Multidirectional Forklift Licence
- Experience operating bandsaws
- Knowledge of tools, plant and workshop equipment
- Chainsaw Certificate
- 7.5T Driving Licence
- Class 2 / Category C (32T Rigid) Driving Licence
Hours
Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:45pm and Friday: 7:30am - 3:45pm
