Eden Scott is delighted to be retained by Loaninghill Fabrication to recruit an experienced Skilled Operator to support both workshop and site operations across a range of fabrication and installation projects. This is a varied hands-on role involving steel erection, fabrication, material preparation, welding and general labouring duties. Working closely with experienced fabricators and site teams, you will assist with the manufacture and installation of gates, railings, structural steelwork and industrial metalwork. A key responsibility of this position is carrying out end-of-day site checks, ensuring equipment is switched off and the workshop is securely locked up. For this reason, the role works 15 minutes later than the standard workshop shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the on-site erection of steelwork
- General site works and labouring
- Driving company vehicles and delivering materials, plant and equipment as required
- Fabricating gate posts and gates
- Cutting and preparing materials for fabrication
- Undertaking MIG welding activities (training provided)
- Punching and drilling materials as required
- Maintaining fabrication records in line with factory production control procedures
- Operating machinery and plant, including hand tools, power tools and forklifts
- Working from drawings and following written and verbal instructions
- Conducting end-of-day workshop shutdown and lock-up procedures
- Ensuring compliance with all health & safety procedures
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience in a fabrication workshop, manufacturing or site-based environment
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude
- Excellent time management skills
- Outstanding attendance and reliability record
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good work ethic and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work additional hours over and above the core working week
- Health & Safety conscious approach to work
Desirable Requirements:
- CSCS Operative Card
- MEWP qualifications
- Forklift or lifting equipment qualifications
- Experience of MIG welding
- 7.5T Driving Licence
- Class 2 / Category C (32T Rigid) Driving Licence
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30pm and Friday: 7:30am - 3:30pm
Salary: £15.00 - £17.00 per hour DOE
