Overview
At Loaf we make insanely comfy sofas, beds and homewares that help people lead more comfortable lives. Founded in 2008, Loaf has grown to become one of the leading premium furniture and homeware brands in the UK. We now have 11 Shacks (stores to everyone else!) with more on the way. The Loaf Brigade is a small internal on-the-road team with enhanced skills and experience, acting as Loaf ambassadors. The aim of the Loaf Brigade is to give exceptional service, going above and beyond for customers who feel let down in their journey, turning it back to a positive experience. They will differentiate Loaf from the competitors.
This role will have overall responsibility for the day to day running of the Loaf Brigade. This includes strategic thinking, new projects implementation, and rolling out of any other processes that involve the Loaf Brigade. The candidate will oversee all Loaf Brigade orders, from initial request, execution and delivery of the products. They will also be responsible for the Loaf Brigade Team, managing their diaries, plotting routes, recruitment and training.
The Job
Responsibilities
- Manage the day to day running of the Loaf Brigade, which includes the Brigade crews, vehicles, order management and route planning
- Represent Loaf Brigade in all key meetings
- Support the Deliveries Manager
- Managing the Loaf Brigade Team members. Including recruitment, training, performance reviews, holiday approval, Brigade cover during sickness or planned absences.
- Responsible for all special request deliveries from scheduling, execution and successful delivery of the products.
- Route planning and crew diary management.
- Creating and analysing Loaf Brigade Stats to evaluate benefits of the Loaf Brigade and support new ideas, processes.
- Working alongside the Head of Logistics and COO to develop and execute the strategy for Loaf’s next phase of growth ambitions for Loaf Brigade.
- Point of contact for all Loaf Brigade infrastructure, logistical related issues / changes / updates.
- Requires contact with customer directly.
- Liaise with Wincanton and Loaf’s warehouse team for picks, storage and QC checks of Loaf Brigade orders.
- Oversee charges and costs to Loaf Brigade; liaising with accounts to make sure charges and POs have been raised and approved.
- Be abreast of any new product updates and other training requirements to ensure the Loaf Brigade are at the top of their game and are expert in all Loaf products.
- Responsible for the Loaf Brigade vehicles, their contracts, relationship with hire company, general maintenance and cleanliness.
- Responsible for the Health and Safety of Loaf Brigade.
- Looking at most cost effective and productive way to run Loaf Brigade and ensure we are delivering as many customer orders as possible.
- Build a good working relationship between the Warehouse, Loaf Brigade and the Loaf Deliveries Team.
- Testing and implementing system changes, improvements, new processes and working with the Loaf tech team and other departments within Loaf to consistently improve the Loaf Brigade service.
- Managing the movement and processing of customer returns from the customer to the returns department.
- Managing all stock movement systems within the Loaf Brigade distribution process
- Conduct regular 1-2-1s, performance reviews and team building within the Loaf Brigade.
- Suggest improvements to process and systems to Line Manager
- Recruitment for Loaf Brigade and support the Team Manager in Deliveries team recruitment.
This role will be based in Nuneaton 4 days a week and 1 day working from home.
