Training Process

Managers In Training learn how to manage the day‑to‑day responsibilities of running a Loaf N Jug convenience store location from our finest leaders. They spend time with a Training Manager and Supervising Manager, working various shifts to learn about the company, the retail team, vendors, and guests. This role supports the Store Manager and other team members in delivering an exceptional guest shopping experience. During official training weeks, Managers In Training work alongside Training Managers to gain insight and best practices for managing a convenience store location. After training, Managers In Training become part of the bench leadership team, helping to fill in during absences until assigned to their own store.

What You’ll Do

  • Greet guests with a warm welcome and a smile, delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Assist the Store Manager with building and developing a strong store team through training, scheduling, and coaching.
  • Monitor product levels on the sales floor, rotating stock and keeping shelves fully stocked.
  • Oversee quality control, merchandising, and food safety programs in locations that offer hot food.
  • Maintain overall appearance and cleanliness of both the interior and exterior of the store.
  • Operate the cash register efficiently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or District Manager.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or GED.

Minimum Experience

1 year of retail or food service experience.

Preferred Licenses/Certifications and Skills

ServSafe/Food Safety certification is a plus but not mandatory.

  • Comfortable talking and interacting with guests and team members

Scheduling

This position is full‑time and requires working a variety of hours, day and night. Weekend and holiday hours are required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 40 pounds. Ability to stand/walk 8 hours a day; reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, and work in cooler temperatures. Moderate noise level.
