Overview
Loaf is seeking an Operations Manager for the Loaf Brigade based in Nuneaton (4 days a week in the office and 1 day working from home). The Loaf Brigade is a mobile on-the-road team delivering exceptional service and resolving customer issues to maintain a positive experience. The role involves day-to-day management of the Loaf Brigade, strategic input, project implementation, and process rollout across the brigade. The successful candidate will oversee all Brigade orders, from request to delivery, and manage the Brigade Team (diaries, routes, recruitment and training).
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the Loaf Brigade, including Brigade crews, vehicles, order management and route planning
- Represent Loaf Brigade in key meetings
- Support the Deliveries Manager
- Manage Brigade Team members: recruitment, training, performance reviews, holiday approvals, and cover during sickness or planned absences
- Oversee all special request deliveries from scheduling to successful delivery
- Route planning and crew diary management
- Create and analyse Loaf Brigade stats to evaluate benefits and support new ideas and processes
- Collaborate with Head of Logistics and COO to develop and execute growth strategy for Loaf Brigade
- Be the point of contact for Brigade infrastructure, logistics issues and updates
- Direct contact with customers as required
- Coordinate with Wincanton and Loaf warehouse team for picks, storage and QC checks
- Oversee charges and costs; liaise with accounts to raise and approve charges and POs
- Stay updated on product updates and training to keep Brigade experts
- Responsible for Brigade vehicles, contracts, hire relationship, maintenance and cleanliness
- Responsible for Health and Safety of Loaf Brigade
- Identify cost-effective, productive ways to run the Brigade and maximise customer orders
- Foster collaboration between Warehouse, Loaf Brigade and Deliveries Team
- Test and implement system changes, improvements, new processes; work with Loaf tech and other departments to improve service
- Manage movement and processing of customer returns
- Manage stock movement systems within the Brigade distribution process
- Conduct regular 1-2-1s, performance reviews and team-building
- Suggest process and system improvements to Line Manager
- Recruitment for Loaf Brigade and support Team Manager in Deliveries team recruitment
