We’re seeking an enthusiastic SDR to join our team based just outside Portsmouth. Although this is a BDR / SDR role, it will sit across the Sales and Marketing functions and will report into the Head of Sales. Focus will be split between outbound prospecting as well as the nurturing and development of inbound leads. It will involve some outbound phone calling. Furthermore, it will be necessary to undertake research activities to help with business development objectives. All in all this role should appeal to candidates who are adept at traditional SDR but are looking for a wider remit.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Generating sales opportunities and qualifying client needs
- Working as part of the sales team to achieve shared objectives
- Connecting with prospects through email, social media and business calls
- Following up with contacts and nurturing inbound leads
- Performing prospecting activities including, pre-call research and planning
- Liaising closely with the Sales team to ensure a smooth handoff of leads
- Ensuring the achievement of agreed targets and KPIs
We are looking for the following skills, traits and experience:
- 1-3 years of proven excellence in sales and/or business development, preferably in a technology-based company
- The confidence and gravitas to make outbound phone calls, ideally demonstrated with previous real-world experience
- Outgoing, confident, and tenacious with an engaging personality
- Ability to think on the fly in a conversation, and ask/answer questions with ease
- Experience with Salesforce, HubSpot or similar CRM/lead-gen automation systems would be useful
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the gravitas to present to senior executives
- The ability to manage tasks and achieve target numbers for contacts and opportunities
