The Finance Team

The LNT finance function has grown considerably over the last 5 years, to a headcount of c.45 people across all disciplines and divisions. The finance function is led by the Group Finance Director and is split into 3 main teams – construction, care opco and the group team. As part of the people agenda, the LNT Finance Talent Academy was launched in 2023, providing a structured pathway & tailored experience for the right individuals to develop & progress their careers in the business. LNT is also an ICAEW Authorised Training Employer.

The Role

This is a key role within the group, where the post holder will assist the Group Accountant in maintaining and preparing key financial information. The role offers the opportunity to build a good understanding of basic accounting principles and controls and to be part of a fast-growing Yorkshire based entrepreneurial business.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and submission of monthly Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns
  • Maintain accurate and organised filing systems to support compliance requirements
  • Prepare monthly management information for a number of SPV/development entities
  • Process purchase and inter‑company sales invoices in a timely and accurate manner
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations
  • Raise payments through the online banking system
  • Prepare summaries of bank balances to support group cashflow projections
  • Reconcile intercompany balances across group entities
  • Prepare VAT returns
  • Obtaining and reconciling supplier statements
  • Assist in maintaining interest schedules to track the group’s debt
  • Provide ad hoc support to the business’ key stakeholders as required

Requirements

  • Suitable for a new entry into accounting or an AAT trainee
  • Strong desire to work with a dynamic and fast‑growing business
  • Demonstrates a proactive attitude and a strong willingness to learn
  • Personable and able to work as a team
  • Foundational understanding of accounting principles appreciated but not required
  • Comfortable in a collegiate, open and meritocratic environment
  • Is prepared to be office based in Garforth (East Leeds) full time

Salary dependent on candidate level & experience. Discretionary bonus scheme – payable each year in June & December. 23 days holiday + bank holidays. Annual pay review. Free on‑site gym.
