Our client is an independent, award-winning commercial insurance broker with a strong reputation in the market. Due to continued growth and future expansion plans, they are seeking a Commercial Account Handler to join their team at their Darwen office. Their office benefits from excellent transport links and offers on-site parking.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated and passionate individual who is eager to contribute to the company’s growth and become a valued member of the team. This role offers the opportunity to have real input into day-to-day operations and help drive the business forward. You will work closely with all departments and provide key support to the Director in managing their book of business.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling incoming enquiries
- Supporting and reporting directly to the Director
- Arranging new policies, renewals, and mid-term adjustments
- Preparing reports, insurance documentation, and presentations
- Coordinating renewal and new business meetings for the Director
- Managing the claims process from start to finish
- Maintaining accurate client records and data
- Negotiating with underwriters to secure the best terms, coverage, and pricing
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and insurers
Essential Requirements
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade A–C / 9–4)
- Proven experience with commercial insurance products
- Experience using Acturis
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Professional and detail-oriented approach
- Highly motivated with a proactive attitude
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Demonstrated track record in client retention
