We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Motor Claims Handler to join a growing and dynamic insurance services organisation. This role involves managing motor claims from first notification through to settlement, delivering an efficient and high-quality claims experience for customers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for customers, delivering a professional and empathetic claims service
- Handle First Notification of Loss (FNOL) via telephone and other channels
- Accurately record and assess new motor incidents
- Guide customers through the claims process, determining the most appropriate course of action
- Liaise with insurers, underwriters, repairers, engineers, recovery agents, and other third parties
- Manage the repair process through approved networks where applicable
- Assess liability and support claim progression through to resolution
- Promote in-house claims services to clients and stakeholders
- Process payments in line with delegated authority requirements
- Ensure all actions comply with relevant regulatory and industry standards
- Undertake additional duties as required to support the team and wider business
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 1 year of claims handling or claims processing experience
- Strong telephone manner with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and customer service
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
- Confident in influencing outcomes and managing stakeholder expectations
- Knowledge of claims systems (e.g., Proclaim) is advantageous
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks and industry best practices
