At Astley Park we are a supportive and forward thinking special school committed to providing exceptional education for children and young people with a wide range of complex learning needs and are seeking a dedicated class teacher to join our team. You will work collaboratively with skilled support staff to create a nurturing and stimulating environment tailored to individual needs.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about inclusive education and pupil progress
  • Has experience (or a strong interest) in working with pupils with SEN
  • Can deliver creative, personalised and multi sensory learning
  • Can work collaboratively with staff, families and external professionals

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree
  • QTS
  • Evidence of CPD – SEND/curricular

  • Not applicable.

Essential Experience

  • Experience of teaching pupils with a range of SEND within a primary or special school setting
  • Working knowledge of assessment procedures and ability to analyse and utilise data to support progress to raise achievement
  • Excellent ICT skills
  • Experience of leading a subject, long term project or initiative
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary working
  • Experience and confidence in managing pupils whose behaviour can be challenging

Desirable Experience

  • Team Teach intermediate trained.
