Overview

Summary This is an exciting time to join Barden Primary School. Were launching a newly re-designed Pupil and Family Support Team, and were looking for an enthusiastic Learning Mentor to help us shape its future. In this role, youll work closely with pupils who are facing barriers to learning, providing mentoring, emotional support and practical strategies to help them thrive.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Relevant Level 3 qualification in Education, Child Development, Youth Work, or equivalent

Desirable Qualifications

Additional training in SEMH, behaviour management, or mentoring approaches

Experience

Essential Experience

  • Experience of working directly with children and young people in an educational or pastoral setting
  • Experience of delivering one-to-one and group interventions to support wellbeing and behaviour
  • Experience of supporting pupils with SEMH needs and managing challenging behaviour
  • Experience of working with families and external agencies to support pupil outcomes

Desirable Experience

  • Experience of supporting pupils during key transition points
  • Experience of contributing to attendance initiatives and pupil engagement activities
