Position: Teaching Assistant 2A Early Years

Location: Accrington Huncoat Primary School, Lynwood Road, Huncoat, Accrington, Lancashire, BB5 6LR (205 on roll)

Grade: Grade 4

Salary: £25,185 to £25,989 (Full Time Equivalent). Part time (20 hours/week) pro rata salary £11,511 – £11,879.

Term: Part‑time, Term time only.

Contract: Fixed Term Contract, until July 2026 (Open ASAP).

Summary: Huncoat Primary School’s Nursery seeks an enthusiastic, experienced TA2a to join our nurturing Early Years team. This role supports 3‑5 year olds in a stimulating environment, promoting play‑based learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support young children through high quality early years education.
  • Implement and maintain good routines for 3‑5 year olds.
  • Work collaboratively with the EYFS team to support children’s learning and development.
  • Assist with assessment and planning of activities.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming classroom environment.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • TA2 NVQ or equivalent.
  • Working experience with children aged 3‑7 years.
  • First Aid trained.
  • Choking / Food Hygiene Certificate or Training.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • Phonics / early reading and early maths experience.
  • Experience working in a Nursery setting.
