Senior Electrical Engineer – Staff – Home Working / Southampton / London

Location: Home Working / Southampton / London This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering business during a period of continued growth as they support the Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy sectors.

Our client operates a hybrid working model, so the successful candidate can work from home with regular trips to either the London or Southampton offices.

The work location can be split between the London and Southampton offices, though our client has a preference for the successful candidate to be based in Southampton.

Role & Responsibilities This is a consultant style role that will involve technical reviews, project development and delivery activities.

The role will be supporting clients developing the electrification of assets to reduce operating carbon footprint and costs.

Support Electrical element of offshore energy projects involving topsides facilities engineering, floating production systems technology and project management.

Will have previous experience of electrical analysis, including using ETAP.

Preparation and checking of deliverables including drawings, schedules, datasheets, specifications, (input to control philosophies and narratives if applicable).

Must understand wiring diagrams, control logic diagrams, system descriptions, system calculations, 1-line and 3-line AC drawings, AC & DC schematics, and be able to size equipment and perform cable sizing calculations Participation in design review, 3D Model Reviews, Value Engineering, Risk Management workshops, Design and testing of simulation software devices for complete project simulation.

Responsible for engineering design and assessment in line with client expectations as well as supporting others within the team.

Will be required to provide input into HAZOP / HAZIDs.

Key Skills & Knowledge Must be degree qualified in either C&I, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.

Chartered status desired but not essential.

Must have experience of electrical analysis, including using ETAP.

Previously worked on design projects in the Oil & Gas or Offshore Wind industries.

Experience of electrical equipment and its application in conventional and safety applications.

Experience in relevant design standards and protocols.

Benefits In return the successful candidate can expect a salary of c.50-70k (depending on experience) and benefits package coupled with excellent career progression opportunities as the company continues to grow.
