This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing energy company with a particular focus on green hydrogen projects during a period of considerable growth across the UK and Europe. The role will be responsible for a portfolio of hydrogen projects across the continent. The role can be based in the UK but will require regular trips to Denmark (c.1 week per month). Previous hydrogen project experience is essential.
Role & Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing the mechanical scope of work across a portfolio of hydrogen projects at different stages of development across Europe.
- Ensuring technical compliance for mechanical systems, in particular hydrogen compressors, mainly positive displacement (piston-type), pumps, and other related mechanical equipment.
- Preparing technical specifications and data sheets for major mechanical equipment.
- Reviewing mechanical engineering deliverables and documentation prepared by the EPC contractor during FEED and EPC stages.
- Participating in technical meetings and design reviews with major equipment vendors.
- Reviewing and providing technical input on documents received from main equipment suppliers.
- Visits to equipment vendor facilities and participating in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
- Participate in relevant meetings, such as HAZID, Design Reviews, Model Reviews.
- Coordination and exchange of interface information between the main equipment suppliers and the EPC contractor.
- Technical support to the EPC contractor during pre-commissioning and commissioning preparation activities.
Key Skills & Knowledge
- Must be Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
- Chartered status advantageous though not essential.
- Experience in complex energy projects during FEED and EPC.
- Previous hydrogen project experience is essential.
- Previous site experience in conjunction with a design background beneficial.
The role can be based in the UK but will require regular trips to Denmark (c.1 week per month). This role is deemed to be outside IR35.
