Principal Process Engineer (Client Team) – Contract – Hybrid / South Wales Location: Hybrid / South Wales This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering business during a period of continued growth as they support the Oil & Gas, Chemical and Renewable Energy sectors. The role will be incorporated as part of the client team supporting a major chemical facility. The role will be working on either a hybrid or full time office basis. If hybrid c.2/3 days can be working remotely with c.2/3 days to be based in the client location in South Wales. This role is deemed outside IR35. Role & Responsibilities * The role will be working as part of the Client team, supporting an existing team of engineers in the development of complex projects. * Develop the scope of work / basis of design for studies and projects. * Complete RV calculations, pump calculationss, size orifice plates and complete heat exchanger calculations. * Undertake and checking of process calculations. * Preparation and checking of process deliverables – PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, specifications, process descriptions, philosophies and narratives. * Supporting the project during FEED and detailed design stages. * Perform safety related calculations and provide input to safety reviews – What If, Hazop SIL Assessment, etc. * Utilise process simulation software as required for the development of process deliverables. * Attend in-house and site-based meetings / reviews with clients. * Undertake short and long-term business travel in support of studies, projects and consultancy. Key Skills & Knowledge * Degree in Chemical Engineering essential, chartered status desired but not essential. * Previously worked on design projects in the Oil & Gas, Chemical, Petrochem, or Renewable Energy industries. * Experience in relevant design standards and protocols. * Previous site experience in conjunction with a design background beneficial
