This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering business during a period of continued growth as they support the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Renewable Energy sectors. This role is deemed to be outside IR35.
The role is part time (c.2/3 days p/w) and our client might be able to offer some level of hybrid working.
Role & Responsibilities- Development and implementation of programs to comply with environmental regulations, permit requirements, internal policies and standards.
- Environmental Management System Lead β develop and maintain the environmental management system in accordance with ISO14001.
- Provide clear interpretations of regulations, laws, permits, and associated procedures.
- Consultancy style support to projects and clients including planning applications and environmental risk assessments.
- Supporting various aspects of ongoing environmental obligations including Environmental Management Systems (EMS), permitting strategy, permitting and consents, planning strategy and support, design standards, legal compliance, carbon reporting, climate change risk assessment and adaptation.
- Environmental input to projects at various design stages to identify environmental impacts at an early stage and mitigate any delay they may cause.
- Complete, submit and/or review required regulatory reports.
- Creating reports to identify environmental risk assessments associated with client / project needs and create plans to ensure compliance.
- Participate in relevant meetings, such as HAZID, Design Reviews, Model Reviews.
- Involved in a number of engineering projects at different stages including concept, pre-FEED, FEED and EPC / PMC.
- Liaising with Clients and managing their needs and expectations.
- Degree in Environmental, Chemical or equivalent Engineering.
- Chartered status preferred but not essential.
- Strong technical background and experience related to contaminated sites management (from characterization till remediation and redevelopment).
- Awareness of Decarbonization, Renewables and Energy efficiency principles an advantage.
- GIS, CAD and data management skills.
