We specialise in supporting children and young people aged 4–19 with complex social communication needs, including Autism. We are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant Apprentice.
Apprenticeship Summary
- Salary: £12,480 per year (based on £8.00 per hour)
- Working Week: Monday to Friday, 9.15am – 3:15pm (including 30-minute lunch)
- Hours: 30 hours per week
- Apprenticeship Training: Online apprenticeship training supported by skilled tutors
- Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard
- Location: Smarts Heath Road, Mayford Green, Woking, GU22 0AN
- Start Date: September 2026
The Role
To work alongside Teachers, Lead Assistant and other Classroom Assistants as a member of the class
team in order to deliver an appropriate curriculum within a secure, appropriately stimulating and nurturing
environment.
Main Duties
- Help students with learning activities inside and outside the classroom.
- Support play during breaks and assist with trips, encouraging safety and independence.
- Help students take part in all subjects, including arts, sports and swimming.
- Join and support students on residential and community outings.
- Work closely with the class team to create a positive learning environment.
- Support students with personal needs like toileting and feeding.
- Assist in setting up and organising classroom resources.
- Follow school policies and take part in training and development.
- Carry out therapy activities under guidance from professionals.
- Support transitions between activities and use hands on guidance to aid learning and communication.

Training and Development
As an apprentice, you will receive a combination of on-the-job training and formal learning, including:
- Completion of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard
- Regular mentoring and support from experienced staff
- Ongoing progress reviews and development meetings
- Training to support classroom practice and professional development
