We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Sports Coach Apprentice to support the delivery of high‑quality PE and school sport provision across the school. You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver PE lessons, lunchtime activities, sports competitions, and school sporting events, helping children develop positive lifelong habits and an enjoyment of physical activity. This role provides practical experience within a supportive school environment and is ideal for anyone wanting to begin a career in sports coaching or education.
Throughout your apprenticeship, you will develop your understanding of physical education, school sport, and physical activity, while gaining hands‑on experience supporting teachers, leading activities, and encouraging children to participate confidently and safely in sport.
You will gain experience in:- PE lesson support and delivery
- School sports competitions and fixtures
- Supporting sports teams and school sporting events
- Lunch‑time and break‑time physical activities
- Setting up and maintaining sports equipment
- Supporting inclusive sports provision for all pupils
- Promoting health, wellbeing, and physical activity

- Support school staff in delivering high‑quality PE and school sports sessions.
- Help develop and lead school sports teams.
- Assist with preparing for and attending school sports competitions and fixtures.
- Support sports days, competitions, and other sporting events.
- Help identify and support talented individuals within lessons.
- Promote and celebrate sporting achievements across the school.
- Provide one‑to‑one support for pupils with SEN or disabilities where appropriate and under supervision.
- Support joint working with external organisations and partners.
- Assist with setting up, taking down, and storing sports equipment.
- Complete and maintain appropriate data and administrative tasks associated with the role.
- Promote health and wellbeing through physical activity.
- Support equality, diversity, and inclusive participation in PE and school sport.
- Undertake training and duties required to complete the apprenticeship programme.
- Act as a strong, positive role model for pupils and staff.
- Support pupils during lunchtimes and breaktimes.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection procedures.

- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role.
