We are seeking two enthusiastic and committed Apprentice SEND Teaching Assistants to join our supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and who are keen to develop their skills within a primary school environment while completing a Level 3 apprenticeship.

Apprenticeship Summary

  • Salary: £12,480 per year (based on £8.00 per hour)
  • Working Week: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:00pm (including 30‑minute break)
  • Hours: 30 hours per week
  • Location: Elsley Primary School, Tokyngton Avenue, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 6HT
  • Apprenticeship Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship (SEND Pathway)
  • Training: On‑the‑job training with online apprenticeship support from tutors

The Role

As an Apprentice SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work under the direction of teachers and the SEND team to support pupils with a range of complex needs. You will help pupils access learning, achieve their EHCP outcomes and develop their independence, social skills and emotional wellbeing. You will support in class, in small groups and on a 1:1 basis, contributing to a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment where all pupils can thrive.

Main Duties

  • Support pupils with SEND in lessons, small groups and 1:1 sessions
  • Assist in delivering learning activities and targeted interventions
  • Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence and self‑confidence
  • Help monitor, record and report on pupil progress
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers and external professionals
  • Contribute to classroom organisation and learning resources
  • Support safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion across the school
  • Take part in wider school life and activities

  • Ongoing progress reviews and development meetings
  • Training to support classroom practice and professional development

The successful candidate will obtain a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification.

Potential full‑time employment for the right candidate upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Please be aware that upon a successful offer of employment the company completes digitalised right‑to‑work checks and DBS applications via an external provider – 'Matrix Screening'. The company also completes an internal online social media search, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.
