We are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic individual, who is hard working and eager to join our admin team as a Business Admin Apprentice. We are looking to recruit a confident, personable individual that can work independently and as a part of a team.

Key Details

  • Salary: £8 per hour increasing to NMW after 12 months
  • Working hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 3pm (30 hours per week)
  • Location: 42-44 Spellow Lane, Walton, Liverpool, L4 4DF

Apprenticeship Details

16 months expected duration to complete, working towards your Level 3 Business Administration Qualification. (All learning is delivered online/ remote). Training Provider: LMP Education (rated 1st best UK training provider).

This is a fantastic opportunity for an eager learner to build valuable skills in an administration role. This role is an apprenticeship where the school will provide training for the successful candidate to achieve a Level 3 qualification in Business Administration.

Your day‑to‑day duties will include:

  • Act as the primary front‑of‑house contact for staff, students and visitors. Welcoming guests, answering enquiries in person and by phone or email, directing people to the appropriate departments, and always ensuring a professional and welcoming environment.
  • To provide an efficient and effective administration support function to the reception and administration team. Handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Operate relevant equipment, ICT packages, and information systems, e.g. Microsoft Office, internet, MIS and email.
  • Undertake word processing tasks.
  • Assist colleagues across departments to ensure smooth operation, including printing of lesson resources and work packs for off‑site learners.
  • Other general administration support, including but not limited to, printing, photocopying and document binding.
  • File, store and record data and information in line with procedures.
  • Assist in the organisation of school events, e.g. Parent/Carer Review Days and INSET days.
  • Undertake reception duties, answering the telephone and dealing with face‑to‑face enquiries.
  • Dealing with students and parents/carers daily and managing difficult conversations.
  • Ensure the security of the school by signing in visitors and issuing passes, alerting staff to the arrival of a visitor, provide refreshments, monitor the collection of the visitor, and signing out and collecting the visitor’s pass as they leave.
  • To always maintain confidentiality.
  • Ensure that all work is completed in a priority basis, and work meets a high degree of professionalism and quality.
  • Undertake any other duties or one‑off tasks at the reasonable request of the CEO, Principal, or other members of the Everton Free School & Football College management team.
  • To take responsibility for personal performance and the development of skills to ensure the required skills, knowledge and competence to fulfil the role.
  • To keep up to date with current relevant education developments, policy and new technologies to enhance the quality of administration and support services.
  • To exercise a commitment to the school’s mission.
  • Monitor potential safeguarding student’s risks and work with the Designated Safeguarding Leads to promote safer working practice throughout.
  • Understand the safeguarding policy, procedures and best practice guidelines. Use this understanding to ensure safer recruitment, safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an anti‑bullying environment.
  • To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all students and young people attending or associate with the school.
