We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join our team. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about working with children, eager to develop their skills in an educational setting, and motivated to make a positive difference in the classroom.

Apprenticeship Summary

  • Salary: £7.55 an hour
  • Working Week: Monday to Friday 8:30am – 3:30pm including a 1 hour break
  • Hours: 30 hours per week
  • Online apprenticeship training supported by our skilled tutors
  • Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will work closely with teachers to support classroom delivery and contribute to a positive learning environment. You will help pupils engage with their learning, provide additional support where needed, and develop essential classroom and behaviour management skills.

Main Duties

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective classroom activities.
  • Supervise and assist pupils during lessons and structured activities.
  • Provide additional support to children who may require extra help with their learning.
  • Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Assist with planning sessions and understanding learning outcomes.
  • Learn and apply classroom-based strategies and behaviour management techniques.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children in line with school policies and statutory guidance.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable and eager to learn. They will enjoy working with children, demonstrate a positive attitude and be committed to developing their skills within a school environment.

Skills and Experience

  • GCSEs at grades A*–C / 9–4 (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Previous experience working with children
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and use initiative when appropriate
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and professional approach
  • Punctual and committed to personal development

Training and Development

As an apprentice, you will receive support through both on-the-job learning and formal training as part of your apprenticeship programme. This will typically include:

  • Study towards a relevant qualification, Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant Diploma.
  • On-the-job training and mentoring from experienced professionals.
  • Regular review meetings to track progress and development.
