We are seeking an experienced Naval Architect to support the delivery of offshore wind and marine construction projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, engineering and execution of offshore operations, including vessel assessments, transport and installation activities, and marine engineering support for renewable energy developments. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex offshore projects within a dynamic and growing sector, contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of offshore wind infrastructure and marine operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform naval architecture and marine engineering calculations in support of offshore wind and marine construction projects.
  • Develop and review vessel suitability studies, stability assessments and seakeeping analyses.
  • Prepare transport and installation documentation, including load-out, towing and lifting procedures.
  • Support heavy lift, subsea and offshore installation activities.
  • Conduct structural assessments and weight control analyses for offshore structures and marine assets.
  • Produce technical reports, calculations, drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Liaise with project teams, vessel owners, clients, contractors and classification societies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant offshore, marine and health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in risk assessments, HAZIDs and operational planning meetings.
  • Provide offshore engineering support during project execution where required.
  • Assist with project planning, budgeting and technical proposal preparation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practice.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience within offshore wind, marine construction or offshore oil and gas projects.
  • Strong understanding of vessel stability, hydrodynamics and offshore operations.
  • Experience preparing marine operation procedures and technical calculations.
  • Knowledge of offshore industry standards, classification rules and marine legislation.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and CAD packages.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional accreditation.
  • Experience with installation vessels, jack-up vessels or heavy lift operations.
  • Familiarity with dynamic positioning (DP) operations.
  • Experience in offshore transportation and installation engineering.
  • Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) and offshore structural analysis tools.
  • Previous offshore or shipyard experience.
  • GWO, BOSIET or offshore survival certification.
