Marine Logistics and Asset Coordinator – International Marine Contractor (UK Base with WFH)
Kick-starting the week with a brand new role! We are pleased to be able to present this opportunity (and a brand new position) with a highly regarded international Survey, Vessel Operator and general Marine Contractor.
We are seeking a highly organised Marine Logistics and Asset Coordinator to support the operational needs of our clients international marine geotechnical business. This role is critical in managing the global movement of specialised geotechnical equipment, coordinating shipments, and ensuring compliance with complex international trade regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Asset Management
- Monitor, track, and manage a global inventory of marine geotechnical equipment and instruments.
- Oversee the import and export of technical assets across international borders, ensuring visibility of asset locations and status.
- Liaise with project teams to ensure the timely return of temporarily exported equipment to its country of origin, minimising delays and downtime.
Shipping Coordination
- Arrange the international shipment of spare parts, consumables, containers, and geotechnical soil and sediment samples collected during offshore site investigations.
- Coordinate with third-party freight forwarders, couriers, and customs brokers to book transport and ensure smooth logistical operations.
- Maintain detailed shipping records and provide regular updates to project and operations teams.
Documentation and Compliance
- Prepare, verify, and manage all required shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and export declarations.
- Accurately assign Harmonised System (HS) codes to goods, ensuring correct classification for customs clearance.
- Ensure all logistical activities are fully compliant with international trade laws, marine transport regulations, and internal company policies.
- Stay up to date with changes in international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and export control requirements.
Ideal Candidate:
- Prior experience in logistics or asset coordination within a technical, engineering, or marine environment.
- Familiarity with international shipping, import/export regulations, and freight documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
