About LMH Oxford Summer Programmes and Conferences: LMH Oxford Summer Programmes are intensive academic and cultural experiences for international students, blending Oxford-style tutorials with excursions, social activities, and community living. Students benefit from world-class teaching, small-group learning, and the unique environment of an Oxford college.
Programme Dates:
- Session 1: 28 June – 18 July 2026
- Session 2: 19 July – 8 August 2026
- Session 3: 9 August – 29 August 2026
LMH Conferences run alongside and after the summer programmes, welcoming a diverse range of external clients – from academic groups and corporate events to residential retreats and training programmes. These events are supported by LMH’s experienced commercial team and are a key part of the college’s operations during the summer vacation.
Student Helpers work across both areas, gaining valuable experience in student support, hospitality, and events management. Once appointed, Student Helpers will need to be available for paid training days in late June.
The Role: Student Helpers are essential to the smooth running of both LMH’s Summer Academic Programmes and its wider conference activity. This role offers varied and practical experience across student support and event delivery. From late June to late August, Student Helpers will divide their time between LMH Summer Programmes and LMH Conferences. From late August to end of September, Student Helpers will shift to full-time conference support. This is a great opportunity for energetic, helpful, and organised individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic team and interacting with a wide range of people.
Reporting Lines: This role reports to the Commercial Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and assist with daily events, excursions, and workshops
- Build positive rapport with students and encourage participation
- Respond to welfare concerns and elevate where needed
- Support logistical coordination with Group Leaders
- Be an enthusiastic and visible presence in the community
Key Responsibilities for Conferences:
- Support check-ins, event setup, and transitions
- Assist with AV, facilities, signage, and name tags for events
- Be a reliable, adaptable, and practical member of the team
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Friendly, approachable, and proactive attitude
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good time management and ability to prioritise tasks
- Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
- Ideally pursuing a post‑graduate qualification within the University of Oxford, or having just completed an undergraduate degree.
- Previous experience in hospitality, events, or student‑facing roles
- Interest in student life, event management, or customer service
Terms and Conditions:
Working hours are expected to be around 40 hours per week. A flexible attitude is required, as there will be evening and weekend work. Paid training in late June (dates TBC).
