LMG has been at the forefront of innovation within the built environment since 1986. We deliver integrated Smart Building technology projects and support services which provide sustainable long-term growth and profitability, as well as diverse range of career opportunities; enabling both our people and our clients' businesses to flourish, whilst setting a new standard for what is possible in the built environment.

As experts in smart building technology, we want to inspire new ways of thinking, deliver excellence and establish new models for doing business – with people, partners and customers – built on trust and shared values, rather than transactional relationships. Alongside actively working to support the raising of standards in training and professional qualifications, we invest heavily in the development of our people.

As a Service Engineer at LMG, you will play a critical role in maintaining the performance and reliability of Smart Building technologies across our client portfolio. This hands-on role combines both reactive and planned service activities, ensuring that incidents and service requests related to security systems infrastructure (such as CCTV and access control) and network infrastructure are resolved efficiently and within agreed SLAs.

You will work closely with client stakeholders — including site security and IT teams — to minimize disruption to building operations and ensure optimal system performance. You will also liaise with third-party suppliers and hardware vendors to coordinate timely responses and facilitate effective problem resolution.

With a balance of technical expertise, problem-solving capability, and customer service excellence, you will ensure systems perform at their best while contributing to LMG's reputation for service quality and innovation.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Deliver high-quality service and maintenance across client sites, ensuring all Smart Building systems — including security and network infrastructure — perform optimally.
  • Respond to reactive service calls and execute planned maintenance activities within agreed SLAs, minimizing downtime and maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faults across CCTV, access control, and network systems, applying strong technical expertise and a solutions-driven approach.
  • Liaise directly with client stakeholders — including site management, IT, and security teams — to coordinate service delivery and ensure smooth operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as the Service Desk and Technical Support to escalate complex issues and drive timely resolution.
  • Maintain comprehensive service documentation, including fault reports, maintenance records, and system updates, ensuring transparency and traceability.
  • Engage with third-party suppliers and hardware vendors to facilitate part replacements, technical support, and efficient problem resolution.
  • Contribute to a culture of technical excellence, health and safety compliance, and continuous improvement across all service activities.
  • Participate in an on-call rota to provide responsive, out-of-hours technical support when required.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a proactive and technically adept Service Engineer who thrives on solving complex problems and delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Proven experience servicing and maintaining electronic security systems (CCTV, access control) and IT/network infrastructure.
  • A solid understanding of Smart Building technologies and experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently across multiple client sites.
  • Familiarity with IP-based systems, network diagnostics, and manufacturer remote diagnostic portals.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in dynamic environments.
  • A commitment to compliance, safety, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Certifications in security systems (e.g., NSI, SSAIB) or networking (e.g. CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA).
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Minimum five GCSEs (A-C / 4–9) including Math's and English.
  • Three A levels (A-C) or equivalent qualification (240 UCAS points).
  • Knowledge of ITIL or similar service management frameworks (desirable).
