The Opportunity
Take charge of night operations in a leading logistics team at one of the UK's busiest hubs. If you're an experienced transport operator who thrives under pressure, this is a hands-on role with strong earning potential, modern systems, and real progression.
What you'll be doing
- Book VBS slots and keep container movements on track.
- Optimise schedules, swap jobs, and coordinate agency/night drivers.
- Handle overnight call outs, monitor the fleet, and manage day-shift handovers.
- Join the on-call rota (1 in 4 weekends): 2 hours Saturday + weekend on-call (paid extra).
What we're looking for
- Transport operations experience (logistics/container environment preferred).
- Strong organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Confident communication with drivers, agencies, and internal teams.
- Solid IT skills (TMS, email, Excel).
- Calm, proactive, and able to work independently on nights.
- Flexibility to support the weekend on-call rota.
