Job Description
As a trusted underwriter, you'll manage a broad portfolio of international Construction & Engineering risks, combining deep technical expertise with sharp commercial instincts.
- Salary: £130,000
- Benefits include a 15% employer contribution pension.

Responsibilities:

Assessing and underwriting new and renewal (re)insurance submissions with a strong focus on profitability and risk selection

Negotiating favourable terms with brokers while maintaining underwriting discipline

Collaborating closely with global teams across London, Dubai, KL, Casablanca, and Amman to ensure consistent and effective underwriting practices

Supporting the Class Underwriter in portfolio management, business planning, and the development of new products and growth strategies

Building and maintaining high-trust broker relationships across the UK and international markets

Ensuring compliance with FCA guidelines, underwriting procedures, and financial crime prevention standards

Participating in marketing efforts and producing class-related content and materials

Demonstrating leadership through mentorship, peer reviews, and professional conduct
Skills/Experience required:

At least 5 years' experience in Construction & Engineering underwriting or related disciplines

CII-qualified (or working toward qualification) and committed to continuous learning
