An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Loan Administration Manager to join a growing banking operation in the City of London.
This is a senior operational role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end administration of loan products, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance and high service standards across the Loans Administration function.
You will lead and develop the Loans Administration team, oversee loan processing and servicing activity, manage operational risk and act as a key escalation point for complex issues.
The role will also provide cover for the Head of Loan Administration when required.
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days WFH
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Loans Administration function.
- Oversee loan processing, documentation, servicing, settlements and associated administration.
- Lead, coach and develop the Loans Administration team, providing ongoing guidance and training.
- Monitor workloads, performance, KPIs and SLAs to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Act as an escalation point for complex loan administration queries and operational issues.
- Ensure loan administration activities comply with internal policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate loan records, reporting and operational controls.
- Work closely with Front Office, Credit, Finance, Treasury and Operations teams.
- Liaise with Head Office to ensure effective communication, alignment and consistent processes.
- Work closely with Finance/FRRD on accounting-related matters, including margin changes, backdated deals, P/L adjustments and prepayments.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with external banking and loan administration partners.
- Support audits and ensure the function remains prepared for regulatory reviews.
- Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies across the Loans Administration function.
- Manage and actively participate in ad-hoc projects and wider operational initiatives.
- Provide cover for the Head of Loan Administration during periods of absence, ensuring key tasks, issues and escalations are managed effectively.
Skills/ Experience
- At least 5 years' banking experience.
- Proven experience within loan administration, loan operations or financial services operations.
- Strong understanding of lending products, loan processing and servicing.
- Previous team leadership and people management experience.
- Loan IQ experience – essential.
- Good working knowledge of SWIFT and Microsoft Office/Excel.
- Strong understanding of operational risk, controls and regulatory compliance.
- Experience working closely with Front Office, Credit, Finance, Treasury and other operational teams.
