We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced VP-level Technical Systems Analyst to support the analysis and implementation of a new enterprise data platform with a focus on Risk and ESG reporting. The successful candidate will bring 5+ years of experience in business and systems analysis within banking or financial services, with strong capability across technical requirements definition, data architecture, and database-driven solution design. This role will play a critical part in supporting regulatory and ESG-driven data initiatives in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the technical implementation of ESG reporting solutions, ensuring alignment with regulatory and business requirements.
- Gather, analyse, and document technical and non-functional requirements, translating system constraints and architectural considerations into Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs) or equivalent specifications.
- Partner closely with Business, Risk, Compliance, Sustainability, Data Governance, and IT delivery teams to support end-to-end solution design and execution.
- Facilitate IT delivery activities including solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment, working with both internal teams and external vendors.
- Drive cross-functional stakeholder alignment, ensuring clear scope definition, technical feasibility, and delivery accountability.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory obligations and internal policies relating to ESG, data governance, and risk management.
- Define, document, and maintain data lineage across upstream and downstream systems for critical datasets.
- Contribute to database design, including schema development, normalization, optimisation, and performance considerations.
- Produce and review conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to define data pipelines, integration patterns, and metadata structures.
- Ensure alignment with data-architecture principles, BCBS239 data-quality expectations, and strong data-management practices.
- Develop and maintain ERDs, data dictionaries, and supporting documentation.
- Support the implementation of lineage tooling, metadata repositories, and structured data-governance workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years' experience in business or systems analysis, preferably within banking or financial services.
- Proven experience in data analysis, data modelling, and database design.
- Strong understanding of technical and non-functional requirements, including performance, security, scalability, and resilience.
- Experience with interface specifications, data mapping, and integration design.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical teams.
- Experience working closely with product owners, data engineers, and QA teams in delivery environments.
- Strong experience within Agile / Scrum teams, including writing user stories.
- Hands-on experience with data profiling and data validation activities.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance, particularly in ESG-related contexts.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Exposure to management information (MI) and analytics platforms.
- Experience with Azure-based data platforms, including Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
- Knowledge of external emissions and environmental data providers.
- Strong understanding of modern data platforms and enterprise IT frameworks.
- Experience working within BCBS239-aligned environments.
- Understanding of regulatory ESG and sustainability reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and SQL.
- Experience across both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- High levels of resilience, adaptability, and professionalism in high-pressure environments.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Advanced qualifications or certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or CTPRA are advantageous.
