A major commercial bank offering a broad range of banking and financial services to corporate and institutional clients internationally, is looking for a Finance Assistant to join them on a temporary basis, initially for 3 months. The role is processing daily financial information and ensuring accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial records. The role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting management reporting and reconciliations.
Location: London
Contract length initially for 3 months
Salary: Equivalent to Β£43K
Key Responsibilities:- Accounts Payable
- Support the accounts payable process by coding supplier invoices and processing them through SAGE into the General Ledger
- Ensure all invoices are properly authorised prior to payment
- Process payments for authorised invoices in a timely manner
- Prepare and input journal entries into the General Ledger
- Assist in maintaining accurate and complete accounting records
- Prepare, check, and distribute Nostro account reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve outstanding or reconciling items promptly
- Management Information
- Produce daily management accounts and reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly management information reports as required
- Fixed Assets
- Perform monthly reconciliation of the Fixed Asset Register
- GL and Suspense Accounts
- Assist with the monthly reconciliation of General Ledger and suspense accounts
- Good general systems knowledge
- Working knowledge of SAGE accounting software is preferred
- Familiarity with MIDAS systems would be an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines in a structured, process-driven environment
