We’re looking for a proactive and customer-focused Portfolio Manager to join a growing Bridging Finance team at a city-based bank. This is a key servicing and portfolio management role where you'll become the primary point of contact for customers, brokers and internal stakeholders throughout the life of a loan. You'll manage customer requests, support portfolio performance and ensure exceptional service delivery while maintaining strong risk and compliance standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience within bridging finance, specialist property lending, mortgages or a similar lending environment, with a strong understanding of loan servicing, customer management and credit processes.

Location: London (City)

Salary: £55K

Hybrid working: 50% Office/50% Working from home

  • Portfolio Management & Customer Servicing
  • Act as the first point of contact for customers, brokers and internal colleagues on all servicing matters
  • Manage customer requests including facility extensions, consents to lease and partial releases of security
  • Maintain ownership of enquiries from receipt through to completion
  • Keep customers and brokers informed throughout the lifecycle of each request
  • Deliver timely, accurate responses in line with agreed service standards
  • Credit & Risk Management
  • Assess customer requests and ensure adherence to lending policies and procedures
  • Secure approvals from underwriting and risk teams where required
  • Prepare and present credit proposals for amendments to existing facilities
  • Monitor accounts for early warning indicators and take appropriate action when required
  • Escalate higher-risk cases in accordance with bank policies and procedures
  • Portfolio Oversight
  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring facilities remain within agreed tolerances
  • Support customers approaching maturity to ensure timely repayment of facilities
  • Consider and process short-term extensions in line with delegated authorities and policies
  • Produce customer documentation including redemption statements and servicing correspondence
  • Operational Excellence
  • Maintain accurate customer records across internal systems
  • Ensure servicing activities are completed accurately and efficiently
  • Support departmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives
