Senior 3rd Line Engineer in Stonehouse

Salary: £65,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements

• We are looking for a senior-level engineer with hands‑on experience across Microsoft 365.
• We need strong capability in Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, endpoint security, Copilot, and SharePoint.
• We require a solid background in Microsoft security tooling and secure design.
• We prefer experience working in MSP or multi‑tenant environments.
• We are looking for someone confident working directly with customers at both technical and business levels.
• We value relevant Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, MD-102, and SC or AZ security pathways.
• PowerShell scripting and automation experience is desirable.
• Exposure to Microsoft Defender XDR and Sentinel is desirable.
• Experience contributing to or improving technical standards across teams is desirable.
• We are looking for someone who can support a hybrid working model in Stonehouse, with 2 days onsite and 3 days working from home.

Responsibilities

• We act as a technical authority and escalation point for complex incidents and projects.
• We build and maintain trusted relationships with customers, translating business needs into secure technical solutions.
• We share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and help upskill junior engineers.
• We contribute to technical standards and help shape our technical direction.
• We design, deploy, and optimise Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft 365 Groups.
• We lead tenant reviews, remediation activities, and platform standardisation.
• We drive adoption of secure and governed modern working practices.
• We support migrations and transformations from legacy or poorly configured environments.
• We design and manage secure identity architectures using Microsoft Entra ID.
• We implement and maintain Conditional Access, MFA, passwordless authentication, and Privileged Identity Management.
• We engineer and operate Microsoft security tooling, including Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Purview.
• We apply Zero Trust principles and Microsoft security best practices.
• We support customer compliance needs, including ISO 27001-aligned controls and GDPR considerations.
• We architect and manage device estates using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot.
• We define secure baseline configurations for Windows 11, macOS, iOS, and Android.
• We improve device security posture, patching, and lifecycle management.
• We use PowerShell and automation to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
• We contribute to documentation, runbooks, and internal standards.
• We work with operations teams to improve repeatability and service quality.
