About the role
We’re looking for a dedicated Senior Engineer to join our supportive, collaborative and experienced team, with a solid technical background and a passion for problem solving. This role is focused on designing, securing and improving Microsoft 365 environments for our customers that rely on them every day. As a Senior Engineer, you will take ownership of tenant design, security posture and operational standards across identity, devices and collaboration tools. You will act as a trusted technical contact for customers, translating business needs into secure and reliable Microsoft solutions, help lead and shape technical decisions and raise engineering quality across the service we provide.
Our ideal candidate
You will bring senior-level, hands-on experience across Microsoft 365, with strong capability in Entra ID, Intune, endpoint security, Copilot and SharePoint, a solid background in Microsoft security tooling and secure design, experience working in MSP or multi-tenant environments, and the confidence to work directly with customers at both technical and business levels, supported by relevant Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, MD-102 and SC or AZ security pathways. PowerShell scripting and automation experience is desirable, along with exposure to Microsoft Defender XDR and Sentinel, and experience contributing to or improving technical standards across teams.
Typical day involves:
- Leadership and Collaboration
- Technical authority and escalation point for complex incidents and projects
- Building and shaping relationships with customers, becoming a trusted advisor and translating business needs into secure technical solutions
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with colleagues, including sharing knowledge, mentoring and upskilling junior engineers
- Being a key contributor to technical standards and direction
Microsoft 365 & Modern Workplace
- Design, deploy and optimise Microsoft 365 services including: Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online & OneDrive, Microsoft 365 Groups & lifecycle governance
- Lead tenant reviews, remediation and platform standardisation activities
- Drive adoption of modern working practices in a secure, governed manner
- Support migrations and transformations from legacy or poorly configured environments
Identity, Security & Compliance
- Design and manage secure identity architectures using Microsoft Entra ID
- Implement and maintain: Conditional Access policies, MFA and passwordless authentication, Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
- Engineer and operate Microsoft security tooling including: Microsoft Defender (Endpoint, Office 365, Cloud Apps, Identity), Microsoft Purview (DLP, sensitivity labels, eDiscovery, retention)
- Apply Zero Trust principles and Microsoft security best practices
- Support customer compliance needs (e.g. ISO 27001-aligned controls, GDPR considerations)
Endpoint & Device Management
- Architect and manage device estates using: Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot
- Define secure baseline configurations for Windows 11/macOS, IOS & Android
- Improve device security posture, patching and lifecycle management
Automation & Engineering Quality
- Use PowerShell and automation to: Reduce manual effort, Improve consistency and reliability
- Contribute to documentation, runbooks and internal standards
- Partner with operations teams to improve repeatability and service quality
