Main Purpose of Job:

  • To provide a professional, high-quality advice and support service on the full range of HR matters to schools, academies, school-based staff and external clients.
  • To support the development of the Schools HR function in line with our vision and values, identifying and developing business opportunities with existing and new customers.
  • To develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with customers based on professional credibility, excellent customer-care and solution-focused advice.
  • To advise on the TA Proposal regarding terms and conditions, casework, pre-employment checks and training, acting as the employers representative.
  • To act as the school liaison officer for school based staff.
  • Proactively develop skills and understanding of both the commercial aspect of the organisation and the HR function, providing a commercially focused, value-added service.

Experience:

  • Evidenced experience of advising on a range of HR issues including disciplinary, grievance, capability, redundancy and TUPE.
  • Evidenced experience of managing complex HR cases.
  • Experience of providing advice on Green Book, Soulbury Committee, Burgundy Book, The School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document, School Staffing Regulations, School Governance, Academies Financial Handbook.
  • Experience of working with or evidence of capability to work with Schools in a HR capacity.
  • Experience of delivering training sessions.
  • Experience of working within a Unionised environment and involvement in union consultations.
  • Experience of project working.
  • Experience of working with confidential and/or sensitive information.
