We have an exciting opportunity to join the Lockheed Martin team in Havant, Hampshire as a Model Based Systems Engineer. Our 4 Flex working fortnight is a particular favourite amongst the team, giving you every Friday off, to spend more time doing the things you enjoy. You will work across the portfolio of UK engineering programmes, providing hands on support to use modelling tools and processes. You will have opportunities to work both on our existing portfolio of programmes and future capabilities, providing lots of exciting learning opportunities.
You will primarily be home based with occasional travel to the Havant offices and our customer sites in places such as Ampthill, Cranwell and Culdrose. This would really suit you if you have a background in Aerospace or other highly regulated industries such as Automotive or Railway.
You will experience a wide range of engineering activities including:
- Working with a technical team on a sub system or part of a system.
- Becoming the Cognizant (responsible) Engineer for the modelling of requirements and design for a system and/or sub system.
- Requirements Derivation.
- Reviewing, advising and supporting system test plans and acceptance test documentation.
- Supporting Design efforts of Bespoke Aerospace Software/Hardware interfaces and systems.
- Modelling and Systems Design.
- Translating business requirements into appropriate technical specifications.
- Managing your time effectively to develop effective solutions to cost and quality targets.
- Providing technical input to programme management and commercial staff and support where required in the use of LM and industry tools.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and suppliers across all levels of the organisation both internally and with the customer.
- Any additional programme related tasks assigned that are within area of expertise, competence and skill set.

Understanding of Systems Engineering tools processes and practices (MODAF/DODAF/NAF, TOGAF, UML/SysML, DOORS NextGen). Practical experience of Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect, Cameo). Ability to support other team members to achieve technical objectives and solutions. Solid Understanding of requirements definition and interface documentation required to support the development and acceptance of solutions. Extensive Understanding of Test and Qualification procedures and practices, especially with regard to requirement sell off. Strong communication skills, and the ability to write in a clear and concise manner. Positive attitude, and willingness to get involved with tasks across the System Engineering lifecycle. The ability to manage tasks and priorities to ensure that assigned workload is delivered when required. Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences on sometimes complex.

- REST API development experience.
- Experience of working in a highly regulated industry.
- Degree in Engineering or other STEM subjects.
