Due to increasing demand across complex electrical systems programmes, we are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support quality assurance activities within a high-volume manufacturing environment. The role will focus on ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards, driving continuous improvement, and supporting the production of electrical cable assemblies and electromechanical products.
Working closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining product quality, resolving non-conformances, and promoting best practice across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Develop control plans and inspection requirements from engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Manage non-conformance activities, including product containment, investigation, root cause analysis (RCCA), and implementation of corrective actions.
- Experience in the creation and population of FAIRs, with a strong focus on data accuracy, completeness, and effective use of information.
- Support and coach production teams on quality standards and workmanship requirements, particularly in accordance with IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620.
- Capture, analyse, and report inspection and test data using automated test equipment.
- Conduct product, process, and system audits to ensure compliance with AS9100, customer requirements, and internal procedures.
- Work collaboratively with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to identify quality issues and implement process improvements.
- Maintain quality documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and manufacturing performance.
- Aerospace or defence manufacturing experience.
- SAP experience.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience in the use of MK tester or DITMCO for automated test procedures.
- Experience of quality assurance in a machining production environment.
