Lockheed Martin Strategic Systems is looking for a Navy Stores Inventory Controller to complement the team based at HMNB Clyde, Faslane. This role benefits from our 9/75 working pattern giving you every other Friday off. This role would suit an experienced Stores / Inventory Controller with experience in Naval, Defence or similar highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Demand all departmental stores either through Naval Store Office (MJDI), Logistics Section
  • Demand, stow and return all hazardous items within the building
  • Haz Mat Temperature checks for shelf life materials
  • Working alongside industry partners and manage stores demands
  • Track & Trace items required by Departments, either incoming from US or other sources, using CLASP / WITS / Logiquest / MJDI
  • Management of stores paperwork
  • Return equipment to Return Store or US using relevant paperwork
  • Monthly stocktake activities against Hazardous goods holdings
  • Maintain the Hazardous Goods database
  • Work alongside ESH and support the COSHH process
  • Liaise with facilities for the removal of waste metal skips
  • Operate all MHE required for the role, FLT's, MEWP's
  • Manage the lifting quarantine area.

The successful candidate must achieve the appropriate level (SC) of security clearance.

Proven experience:

  • Experience as a Stores / Inventory Controller or similar role
  • Stores / Inventory experience within Naval, Defence or similar highly regulated environment
  • Able to accurately record stock movement and identify discrepancies
  • Can generate stock reports and interpret trends
  • Qualified or willing to be trained in the use of MHE (Material Handling Equipment) such as Forklift Trucks and Cherry Pickers
  • Highly computer literate, with experience of databases and solid Excel skills
  • Effective communicator comfortable liaising with Senior Stakeholders both internally and externally

Desirable skills:

  • Naval Stores Systems (CLASP, WITS, Logiquest and MJDI)
