We have an amazing opportunity for a Junior Safety Engineer to join our team. This role will primarily allow you to work from home, most of the time.
LM RMS UK are looking for a junior safety and environmental engineer to join the wider safety team within the business. The LM RMS UK safety team work across multiple programmes in the Air, land and maritime domains.
This role would suit someone in the early years of their career or looking for a change in career. This role is suitable for engineers with no specific safety experience but who do have relevant transferable skills. Training and mentoring will be provided for within this role.
Within this role engineers will be involved in the whole safety lifecyle including:
• Developing Safety and Environmental Management Plans, including sub-contractor/supplier interfacing elements.
• Supporting Functional Safety Assessments for System (and optionally software) safety aspects, such as Preliminary Hazard Analysis, System Hazard Analysis, Sub System Hazard Analysis, Functional safety assessment, Occupational and Operating Hazard Analysis.
• Deriving safety requirements, including integrity requirements.
• Documenting System Level Safety Arguments, Safety Cases and Safety Reports for System and optionally Software Safety aspects.
• Supporting the review of subcontract safety documents.
• Supporting Project Safety Committees, Safety Review Meeting, Technical Interface Meetings, Safety Review Meetings and Safety Working Groups.
• Support Zonals and physical safety audits.
• Demonstrate compliance with safety and environmental legislative requirements.
• Support safety audits and manage findings to closure.
• Support development of LM safety processes/procedures and improvements.
• Developing Environmental impact reports.

- 2 years industry experience in engineering or another relevant field.
- Relevant bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- Interest in a career long term within Safety.
- Adaptability.
- Ability to apply principles and practices learnt within other elements of engineering to safety work.
- Experience of safety engineering specifically hazard log management and identifying and managing risks.
- Experience of Environmental engineer, specifically environmental impact reports.
- Experience in either an aviation or a military engineering environment.
